Actually, I only had a dinner here. We did not book in advance; however, the staff were very helpful. He arranged a table for us (10 people). The foods and drinks are good. I was very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff.

A terrific place to stay when visiting the Dales in the perfect location for hiking the surrounding countryside. There’s a great friendly relaxed vibe about the place helped by good cask ale tasty food and a scrumptious full Yorkshire breakfast. The old building itself totally unspoilt with full on creaking staircases and wonderful views is perhaps the star of the show.
Overall I had a good time staying here even though it was just for a night. Good to know that the fire alarm is working in this 400 old building when it started ringing at 05:30 am waking up all the guests. False fire alarm actually. The breakfast was nice where you order separately. I love this place.
This is a lovely place to stay in a stunning location under Kilnsey Crag. Service is excellent- friendly and efficient. Our room was bright and airy, large and very comfortable. The bathroom could do with some tlc but was clean and functional. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast which was enough food to last the day. I hope to return for a longer stay and make it a base for exploring the area.
Lovely old pub/hotel in a stunning part of the Yorkshire Dales. A few minor issues with the room; missing lamp bulb, loose tap but no big deal as the room was very nice overall, The bed was comfortable and the staff very friendly. Nice cooked breakfast.
Myself, partner and 3 kids came here for food. Received a very warm welcome from who I can only assume was the owner/manager. He took us to a table, took our order and made us feel very welcome. He came and did magic tricks for our kids while we waited for food. Food arrived quickly, was tasty and good quality. Will definitely be coming again
